Questions parents ask before applying
Can my child apply with no modeling experience?
Yes. Most participants walk their first runway at YFS. The team supports every child through rehearsals, backstage and showtime.
Are there selection criteria — weight, size, height, appearance?
No beauty or body standards. All shapes, sizes and backgrounds are welcome. The only technical factor is height, for matching outfits from the designer collections.
Could this hurt my child’s self-esteem?
YFS is not a beauty contest or a competition. There are no winners, no judging, no pressure — every child is celebrated equally.
Can parents stay during the show?
Yes. Each child gets one free guest ticket, and red carpet photos with the family are taken after the show. Additional tickets can be purchased.
Is my child safe backstage?
Backstage is fully supervised by experienced staff. Parents wait in a designated area nearby and are not backstage themselves.
Is it worth it if we are not planning a modeling career?
Yes. Confidence, self-expression, teamwork and stage presence stay with a child regardless of what they do next.
Will it help with a portfolio or education?
Yes. The Certificate of Participation has been used for private school applications, international programs, talent-based scholarships and visa cases (EB-1).
How long is registration open?
Until 300 participants per city. The first 100 spots go quickly — applying early gives the best outfit size matching.
If there are 5 cities, does my child participate in all of them?
No. Each child participates in one city. You choose your location or travel to a different one.
